Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has praised Chelsea’s decision to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.
Reports have claimed that the little German star has agreed a five-year deal worth around £175,000-a-week, which the reports also suggesting that both Manchester United and Liverpool have missed out on prospective transfer deals.
It has been claimed that the deal for the German star could be announced in the coming days, and Chelsea are just waiting for the football re-start to happen, as flight restrictions will loosen.
And the Arsenal goalkeeper begrudgingly admits that Chelsea’s attack will be stronger with Werner in the squad.
‘I get on very well with Timo. He is very welcome in London,’ Leno told Sky Sports Germany. ‘I would be happy for him, Chelsea is a great choice, no question about it.
‘The Premier League is faster, more physical. But I think he’s good for it. Timo is an extremely fast player.
‘With his qualities and killer instinct, I’m afraid I have to say, he could be strengthening Chelsea.’
Brilliant signing from Chelsea!
