The Blues defence haven’t remained the same since the exit of club legend John Terry.

For nearly 20 years, Chelsea were fortunate enough to have Terry at the back but the Blues have struggled at the back since his exit from the club.

The likes of Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Kurt Zouma and Fikayo Tomori have struggled to reach the standards set by Terry, with the Blues conceding 54 Premier League goals last season.

According to Daily Express, Chelsea hope to finally replace Terry by signing Thiago Silva and Jose Gimenez this summer.

Silva is poised to leave Paris Saint-Germain after Sunday’s Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich, and the Blues are confident of signing the Brazilian as a free agent.

Chelsea are hoping to reach an agreement with Atletico Madrid for the transfer of Gimenez, who recently admitted he is a Chelsea fan.
