Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was right about his Timo Werner prediction
Timo Werner joined Chelsea in a big-money deal from RB Leipzig back in the summer after an excellent season in the Bundesliga.
Werner has hit top form for the Blues in recent weeks after a slow start to life in the Premier League. He failed to score in his first three Chelsea appearances but has now scored seven goals in his last seven matches in both the Premier League and Champions League combined.
Werner’s recent run of excellent form will come as no surprise to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, who sang praises of the German international earlier this year prior to his move to Stamford Bridge.
Speaking earlier this year, Klopp issued a simple but clear message on what he thinks of Werner.
Klopp said: “Timo Werner is a great player.”
Klopp’s assessment of Werner, though only short, has proven to be correct.
