Tuchel asked Abramovich to sign €60m-rated Real Madrid star – report
According to El Nacional, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has asked owner Roman Abramovich to make a move for Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro.
However, the Catalan rumour mongers report that the Brazilian international is not deemed indispensable by manager Carlo Ancelotti and president Florentino Perez could be persuaded to sell the player for the right price.
Casemiro’s current valuation is €60m (£51.5m) which is pretty steep considering he will turn 30 in February, but Perez feels that the midfielder will not be short of suitors.
Tuchel is reportedly keen to reinforce his options in the middle of the park, both due to N’Golo Kante’s injury problems and the fact that Saul Niguez has failed to impress since his arrival on loan from Atletico Madrid.
Casemiro would undoubtedly add the solidity that Tuchel would be looking for, but it is best to take this rumour with a large pinch of salt, considering El Nacional‘s very unreliable track record.
