Big blow! as Chelsea player is offered £400,000-a-week to dump Tuchel Chelsea after latest club decision

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger is one of the player’s which his contract with Chelsea will end at the end of the season.

However, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will be glad to keep the German player at Stamford Bridge after playing a vital role at the club, but seems Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia won’t make this happen due to Rudiger’s high wages demand.

Meanwhile, according to Daily Mail, Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger is set to become one of the world’s highest paid defenders with Europe’s top clubs lining up to offer £400,000-a-week.

Rudiger’s £100,000-a-week Chelsea contract expires at the end of the season and the Blues are yet to reach an agreement over a new contract with the German international.

The report claims Europe’s top clubs are queuing up to make lucrative formal offers to Rudiger from January 1, with Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain, Bayern Munich and Juventus among the teams in the mix.

Juventus centre-half Matthijs de Ligt is reportedly the best paid defender in the world, earning in the region of £400,000-per-week inclusive of all add-ons.

Should Rudiger leave Chelsea at the end of the season, the German international is expected to get a contract close to that of De Ligt once all financial factors are included.

The fact Rudiger is available on a free transfer means interested clubs will use the money saved on a fee, with the German valued around £70million in the current market, to bolster the value of the player’s salary package in terms of basic wage, signing-on fee and other lucrative add-ons.

Chelsea’s last offer to Rudiger was a £140,000-a-week contract which was rejected by the German international. Chelsea could yet decide to make Rudiger an improved offer, but it seems unlikely the Blues will match what is being offered abroad.
