”In training we practiced such” – Everton player Branthwaite reveals the real secret for scoring Mendy
Mason Mount scored the opener for Chelsea before Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite equalised as both sides played out a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
Branthwaite has revealed he was able to score against the Blues because they practised the free-kick routine in training.
Branthwaite revealed: “We worked on that in training yesterday.”
“I got a few chances round the back and I said to Anthony before the game to just keep delivering those balls in.
“When it was coming to me, I was like, ‘Right, I better score here’. When it went into the back of the net, it was an unbelievable feeling.”
