Tuchel confirms new Chelsea deal despite FA Cup final defeat
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has backed Mason Mount despite his miss in the FA Cup final penalty shootout loss to Liverpool.
However, Mount’s contract with Chelsea expires in two years, and Tuchel has stated that the club’s priority now is to re-sign him.
Mount has been a key element of Thomas Tuchel’s team, and Tuchel believes a penalty miss will not change that.
“The penalty will not influence my opinion on Mason,” Tuchel stated. Given his track record and the importance of the game that he continuously plays for us, he is an important member of this group and club.
“We don’t start doubting him now because he misses a penalty,” says Tuchel.
