REPORT: Chelsea have finalised the signing of young impressive star from Premier League rivals
Chelsea has reportedly finalised the signing of promising Southampton goalkeeper Eddie Beach, according to reports.
The 18-year-old was a member of Saints’ Premier League South U18 title-winning team – and is regarded highly by the club’s coaches – and had intended to play first-team football in the future seasons.
However, with Southampton apparently close to signing Republic of Ireland international Gavin Bazunu from Manchester City – and experienced goalkeeper Willy Caballero allegedly accepting to a new one-year contract with the club – his chances of breaking into the first-team have diminished.
He now appears to be on his way out with football.
Chelsea have agreed a fee with Southampton for the adolescent, who had extended his scholarship term with the club and had garnered interest from a number of clubs, according to London.
Chelsea is one of the most prestigious clubs in the world, and they are always on the lookout for young players who can contribute to the first squad.
