Bring him back home, as Chelsea fans favorite player departs from club after 3 years

Cesc Fabregas only stayed at Chelsea for four years, but the Spaniard was a fan favorite at Stamford Bridge.

Cesc Fabregas, dubbed the “Pass Master,” delighted Chelsea fans with his assists.

Chelsea won two league titles thanks to the Spaniard’s dynamic relationship with former striker Diego Costa.

Fabregas joined Monaco from Chelsea in January 2019, and after three years in the Principality, the former Spain star has confirmed his departure.

The Spaniard has endured a disappointing season in the French Ligue 1, playing just twice after a succession of injuries kept him on the sidelines, and he has described it as the worst period of his career.

On Saturday morning, Monaco announced that the 35-year-old will be departing upon the expiry of his contract.

A statement said: “The midfielder with more than 830 career games, whose contract is coming to an end, leaves the Principality club three and a half years after his arrival.”

However recently, Fabregas had revealed in a previous interview why he’d be leaving the club.

Speaking to So Foot, he said: “My contract expires next June, and I’m looking for a fresh start. My head needs a fresh start elsewhere.

“To be honest, I’ve already had two or three phone calls in the past two weeks from some of my former coaches to find out what I wanted to do, to see if I wanted to join them this summer as a coach.

“But this year has been so bad that I can’t finish on that. Not after building this career. I want to keep playing. I’m grateful for the career I’ve had, but I don’t feel like it’s over.

“I’m open to anything, I just want to have fun. The place doesn’t really matter, it’s more my head that counts. When I’m fit I feel really good, when I’m training with my team-mates I don’t feel any different when it comes to passion for the game.”
