‘Rotten from elite referees’ ‘this decision is wrong’  – David Moyes slams latest VAR decisions after 2-1 defeat to Chelsea

At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea had to come from behind to defeat West Ham 2-1.

After the Blues were defeated in the 62nd minute, Chelsea won thanks to goals from substitutes Ben Chilwell and Kai Havertz.

In the 90th minute, a goal by West Ham was disallowed.

Maxwel Cornet thought he had scored a late goal, but VAR overturned it because Jarrod Bowen was found to have fouled Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

Referee David Moyes criticized the choice taken by referee Andrew Madley and VAR in a post-game interview.

Moyes said after the match: “You have seen it, it is a scandalous decision, absolutely rotten from one of the supposedly elite referees.”

“It doesn’t say much about whoever sent him over from VAR as well. It is an unbelievable decision against us.

“I support a lot of the VAR stuff, I actually think the goalkeeper dives, he is faking an injury because he cannot get to the next one.

“He did the same on the first goal as well. The referee somehow gets that so wrong it is incredible.”
