Tuchel falls-out with Todd Boehly for not bringing €74m monster player to Stamford Bridge

Thomas Tuchel and Todd Boehly never agreed on so many things, according to all the reports that have surfaced since Tuchel was fired.

The new owners decided to fire Tuchel since he and Boehly didn’t appear to agree on many issues.

Boehly arrived at Stamford Bridge intending to support Tuchel, but a report on Wednesday said that the new owners fired Tuchel because they believed he was “not the man to help lead” a new culture at the club.

However, Boehly would later come to the conclusion that the German was “maybe better suited to the more detached managerial style of the previous regime,” despite giving Tuchel more influence over hiring than he had with the previous Chelsea board.

There was a lot of back and forth involving Tuchel and Boehly.

Tuchel had frowned at some of Boehly’s decision to force certain players on him – an example is Anthony Gordon.

According to reports, Tuchel did not want the young Everton winger, but Boehly’s data analysts pushed for the 21-year-old anyway.

According to The Athletic, Tuchel became ‘frustrated’ after the Chelsea board decided not to pursue a deal for Gabriel Jesus before he joined Arsenal.

The Athletic said: “Some of the owners advocated a potential move for Gabriel Jesus early in the summer but Tuchel, perhaps scarred by the Romelu Lukaku experience, insisted he did not want a No 9.

“He later reversed his position but then felt frustrated when Chelsea’s owners did not pursue the deal and Jesus, who was very keen to move to Stamford Bridge, joined Arsenal instead. Eventually, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arrived on deadline day.”

At the end, it seems the Tuchel-Boehly relationship wasn’t one that was going to work anyways.
