‘A fantastic player every coach will want, irreplaceable player’ — Joe Cole sends strong message to Chelsea board
Following Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, Former Chelsea player Joe Cole has analysed Chelsea’s victory.
However, it was a top class performance from the team, and one of the players on fire was Antonio Rudiger who headed in Chelsea’s opening goal that set the pace for an easy Blues victory.
Joe Cole has urged the Chelsea board to do everything possible to keep Rudiger, saying that the German international is irreplaceable.
“He’s in a fantastic position, similar to what Callum [Hudson-Odoi] was in a few years ago where your contract is running down but you’re an important member of the squad. Joe Cole said.
“He’s a fantastic player and Thomas Tuchel will just be wanting to get it done and dusted and signed because he’s so important.
“He’s almost irreplaceable in the sense that, while there’s other great centre-backs at the club, I don’t think there’s any with his aggression and that influence he seems to have over the team. So he’s in great position.”
