‘A sensational man, who deserves it’ — Zsolt Low finally reveals who deserves to win the Ballon d’Or

According to Chelsea assistant coach Zsolt Low has backed Blues midfielder Jorginho to win the Ballon d’Or award this year for his stunning performance for club and country.

Five Chelsea players made the 30-man shortlist for the Ballon d’Or award, but the favourite from the Chelsea camp to win the Ballon d’Or award this year is Jorginho, and he’d be rivalled by Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski.

But Chelsea assistant manager Low says Jorginho would be a ‘deserving winner’.

Jorginho played a key role in helping Tuchel’s side win the Champions League last season, and he also starred in Italy’s Euro 2020 triumph, and was named the UEFA Men’s Player of the Year.

Low told Digi Sport: “He is a sensational man who excels not only in his quality and knowledge [on the pitch], but also in his human qualities.”

“I would consider him absolutely deserving if he won the Ballon d’Or, and would be glad that the award wasn’t only decided between two or three offensive players, but that there be an opportunity for someone else to win it with hard work and great discipline.”
