Agreement closed: Forward chooses Chelsea transfer, official announcement expected soon
Chelsea is allegedly close to signing Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele on a free transfer.
According to Todo Fichajes, the France international has chosen Chelsea over Paris Saint-Germain in order to gain more playing time, with an official announcement expected soon.
Dembele has had a hit-or-miss period at Barcelona since his major move there a few years back, despite earlier looking like one of the world’s most intriguing young talents while at Borussia Dortmund.
Dembele could be close to reuniting with his former Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel, which would be great for him to get his career back on track.
Chelsea are in need of a replacement for Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, and Christian Pulisic, and Dembele could be the answer if he can remain fit and regain his confidence.
Despite some inconsistency during his tenure at the Nou Camp, Dembele finished the 2021/22 season strongly, and his arrival to Stamford Bridge is certain to thrill Chelsea fans.
