Almost done: Leverkusen chief reveals how much Chelsea must pay for Kai Havertz

According to several reports Chelsea target Kai Havertz is keen to join the Blues this summer.

However, The 21-year-old has had an excellent career with Bayer Leverkusen so far, but he’s now ready to make the step up in his career, with Chelsea deemed as his preferred destination.

Bayer Leverkusen left-back Wendell, has revealed that Havertz is already interested in a move to the Premier League.

“If he goes to the Premier League, he will learn a lot,” Wendell told Yellow and Green Football. “I think Kai dreams of playing there. He has that desire. And I think if he decides to play in England, he will be a success.”

Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen’s former CEO, Reiner Calmund, believes the German club will stick to their (€100m) £89.5m asking price for Havertz.

“Havertz scores goals with his left foot, right foot and his head. That is an exceptional quality to have. He is also versatile, fit, technically strong and fast. He is an exceptional talent,” Calmund told Goal.

“The two Bayer managing directors Fernando Carro and Rudi Voller, like the supervisory board chairman Werner Wenning, have committed themselves to €100m as the basis for negotiations. The three Bayer bosses will not move significantly away from this amount.”
