‘Already called’ – as Maurizio Sarri wants £155,000 a week Chelsea signing
According to latest reports from Italy, former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is still keeping tabs with Kepa and has ‘already called’ Chelsea in a bid to sign up the goalkeeper.
The current Lazio boss is keen on Kepa, with Pepe Reina his current No.1, and he wants to strengthen his team ahead of the January transfer window.
Kepa is current second choice at Chelsea and has lost his place to Edouard Mendy after failing to impress under Frank Lampard.
Arrizabalaga has made just five appearances for the Blues this season with his only start in the Premier League coming in the 3-0 win over Tottenham back in September.
However, it’s unclear whether Kepa would be keen on a move to Italy, but with the World Cup just over a year away, the Spaniard would want to play regular football so he can get back into the national team squad.
For Chelsea, it would seem almost impossible to let go of Kepa in January, when Edouard Mendy will be away for the African Cup of Nations.
Italian publication Il Messaggero claim Sarri has already taken it upon himself to reach out to Chelsea over a possible deal for Kepa.
