Amazing! Kai Havertz joins record breakers list that includes Christian Pulisic and Wayne Rooney

There’s no better way to introduce yourself as a new signing than to bag a hat-trick.

Kai Havertz grabbed his first three goals for the Blues on his third appearance with the club in Chelsea’s 6-0 thrashing of Barnsley in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.

Chelsea beat Barnsley 6-0 in the Carabao Cup third-round tie on Wednesday, and Kai Havertz not only scored his first goal for the Blues but also went on to grab a hat-trick – the first one on his senior career.

The 21-year-old, became the fifth player in history whose first goal for a Premier League club was part of a hat-trick. The other four players to have gotten that record are Wayne Rooney, Fabrizio Ravanelli, Jermaine Pennant and another Blue Christian Pulisic, who scored a perfect hat-trick in the 4-2 win against Burnley last season.

It only took Kai 19 days at Stamford Bridge to score three in one game, and he broke a Tammy Abraham record in the process, as he is now the second youngest Chelsea player to score a hat-trick. Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham was previously the second youngest Chelsea player to score a hat-trick.

Havertz scored his Chelsea hat-trick at the age of 21y 104d, beating Tammy Abraham’s record of 21y 347d.

Captain America Christian Pulisic remains the youngest Chelsea player to score a hat-trick at the age of 21y 38d.
