Announcement imminent after Chelsea agree whopping £85 million fee to finally sign star

According to reports from Germany, Chelsea have now agreed an £85million fee for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz, and an announcement could be imminent.

It is no secret in the media that Chelsea are very keen to try and secure a transfer deal for Havertz and have been backed to complete a deal for the German star for months now.

However, it has been claimed that both Bayer Leverkusen and the Chelsea boards cannot agree on the Havertz fee, and that is holding up the possible £70 million signing of a player that netted 18-goals last season.

But now it seems that a deal is on the verge of being announced, as Chelsea have reportedly now agreed a massive £85 million deal with the German outfit, much more than the £70 million Chelsea were hoping to pay, with reports that an announcement is also on its way.

The Byline podcast host said to Jan Age Fjortoft: “People know I speak to contacts and hear things.

“So if I was to tell you Chelsea have agreed an £85m fee to sign Kai Havertz, £60m up front and it is now about how it’s structured, would that be realistic?”

Former Frankfurt striker and Bundesliga expert Fjortoft replied: “I think so. I’m 100% sure they will find a way.”

However, Chelsea are on the verge of announcing this deal, he will be a great buy for the long-term and a player that could be a real threat next season.
