Announcement imminent! Chelsea ‘have agreed a fee’ to bring left-back to Stamford Bridge as club coach reacted

It is no secret that Chelsea have been looking to add a spare left-back to the squad this transfer window and have been linked with a number of players over the past few weeks

But it seems that Chelsea are about to announce a deal for Championship sensation Williams, as reports in the media have claimed that Chelsea have now agree a fee with Derby to bring Williams to the Premier League.

The 18-year-old, who has played nine times for the first team. is a second-year scholar and not on a professional contract.

Rooney says he could not deny young Derby County full back Dylan Williams the chance to play in the Premier League

“We have agreed a fee with a Premier League club, still getting finalised as we speak, for Dylan Williams,” Rooney confirmed at his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s Championship clash against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground

“It is one where I felt I couldn’t deny him the opportuinity, so that is my decision, not an administrator’s decision,”

“It was my decision after speaking to the player, I felt I couldn’t deny a young lad an opportunity of going to play in the Premier League.”

“I actually don’t know what the fee is, that has been agreed between the other club and the administrators,” Rooney said.

“I took control of it and said I wanted to speak to the player and see what his feelings are, and it is a massive opportunity for the player, which I understand. Hence the fact I was happy for him to leave the club for a new venture somewhere else.”
