The Italian endeared himself to the Chelsea fans as he always showed passion for the game and it didn’t take long for the fans to love him.
However, Antonio Conte won the Premier League title in his first season at the club, as he led Chelsea to the title in the 2016-17 campaign.
Conte believes that the 4-0 home win over Manchester United in October 2016 as a key moment in Chelsea’s charge to win the title. He also believes that a humiliation for the returning Jose Mourinho, helped him bond with the Blues supporters.
“I live my job in an intense way,” he said in an interview with Sky Sports. “Sometimes I show my passion and I want to share my happiness with the fans. I had an amazing relationship with Chelsea fans.
“That game was important for us because when you win 4-0 against a top team it’s a boost because we understood very well that we could fight to win the league.
“This game gave us confidence and belief in ourselves and we created a fantastic relationship with our fans.”
