Barcelona open door for Chelsea to give world class defender five-year contract and bring him to Stamford Bridge

Barcelona are likely to give up the pursuit of Bayern Munich star David Alaba, who is also being tracked by Premier League giants Chelsea.

There has been alot of speculation regarding the future of Alaba over the past few months, and Chelsea are one club that are very interested in trying to tempt the left-back to the Premier League.

Right now Thomas Tuchel has Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso in that position, and although they have been solid this season, there is a feeling that the German boss will still look to add to his squad in the summer, and Alaba is on the list.

And according to the reports that icfootballnews have learnt, is that the Chelsea board are planning to open talks with the agent of Alaba in the coming weeks, and are reportedly prepared to go as high as £350,000-a-week to seal a transfer deal

However, there were also reports in the media which had suggested that Barcelona were favourites to get a transfer deal done for the player, as they had already make a contract offer to get a deal done.

However, Sport reports Barca can only sign him if he reduces his wage demands and they offload a star player.

Barcelona will need to sell a number of players in the transfer window to settle some of that debt that they have racked up during the covid019 pandemic, meaning that clubs will get a huge boost from them news, of the reports are true.
