Barcelona president Laporta tells Chelsea to hijack €85m Man Utd target
According to latest reports, Chelsea can sign Frenkie de Jong, This is according to Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona.
However, According to CBS Sports, Laporta has informed the Blues that De Jong is available. Even the Londoners have been “encouraged” by the Barcelona president to make a bid for the former Ajax player.
Chelsea are ‘genuinely interested’ in De Jong, but they are determined they won’t make a formal offer until they can determine whether or not the 25-year-old would be actually interested in a transfer to Stamford Bridge after witnessing the midfield openly squash speculation of a move to Manchester United.
De Jong has received an offer from Barcelona and United worth €85 million, but it is still unclear whether the playmaker and United will be able to agree on terms to complete the transfer.
