Bayer Leverkusen director reveals what Kai Havertz told them about Chelsea transfer

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz this summer.

The versatile attacker has scored 15 goals across all competitions this campaign and five goals in his last six appearances since the return of Bundesliga.

According to Bayer Leverkusen director Fernando Carro, Havertz wants to leave the German club in the near future amid interest from Chelsea.

“Many clubs are interested in him,” Carro told German newspaper Kolner Stadt-Anzeiger.

“I see the player’s wish to take the next step sometime in the near future.

“You have to respect that as much as the fact that he has a contract in until 2022.”
