Big news as Abramovich makes this ‘HUGE’ decision on Rodgers if Lampard gets sacked

The Chelsea board have drawn up a list of candidates to be appointed as Chelsea boss if Frank Lampard gets sacked.

The board are willing to back Lampard but will sack the Chelsea legend if there is an implosion in Chelsea’s season.

One name that has been linked with the Chelsea job is Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers and Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has reportedly made a decision on Rodgers.

According to The Athletic, Abramovich won’t appoint Rodgers as Chelsea boss due to a comment he made during his time as Liverpool boss.

While managing Liverpool, Rodgers had this to say about Chelsea loanee Victor Moses:

“You come from a really good club like Chelsea to a massive club like Liverpool where there is expectancy every day.

“For any player to go into a big club there is a big difference in terms of mentality.”

The Athletic claim Abramovich took issue with the statement and has not forgiven Rodgers for it.
