Big news form Italy – Board offer powerhouse massive £8.5M-a-year contract to join Chelsea
According to reports in Italy, Chelsea has launched a bid for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly and has even made an offer to him.
It is no secret that Thomas Tuchel may lose a slew of defenders at the end of the season due to a number of stars’ contracts expiring, necessitating the signing of a few more players.
And Koulibaly is a name familiar to many Chelsea fans, since the club has been linked with a bid for the heavyweight for several seasons and is still interested in completing a deal.
Now The Blues have made measures to try to persuade the dynamo that a move to Stamford Bridge is the next stage in his career, according to daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Chelsea has reportedly offered the 30-year-old personal terms of £8.5 million per year, which equates to well over £160,000 a week.
Napoli, on the other hand, is said to be wanting £34 million for their star centre-back. With only a year left on Koulibaly’s current deal, Chelsea is aware that the Serie A club may be forced to sell him this summer.
However, Barcelona is also reportedly interested in signing the Senegalese international.
