Blues planning shock move for £200K a-week Liverpool player, as Chelsea coach set to join Frank Lampard at Everton

According to Caught Offside via Goal, Chelsea are planning a sensational move for Mohamed Salah this year,  The mercurial Egyptian’s current contract with Liverpool expires next summer. The Reds have so far failed to tie him down to a new deal.

Salah spent two seasons at Stamford Bridge, but left for AS Roma in 2016 after failing to make a mark. He returned to the Premier League a year later to join Liverpool, and the rest, as they say, is history. The Egyptian has evolved into one of the most feared attackers in the world.

Blues manager Thomas Tuchel is now plotting Salah’s return. The German manager has endured a difficult time with his misfiring attack. The London side invested a fortune in Romelu Lukaku last summer, but are yet to reap dividends. Salah’s contract situation, as such, has got Chelsea interested.

The Egyptian is currently locked in negotiations with Liverpool over a new deal, but talks have not been fruitful so far. If the 29-year-old continues to stall an extension, the Reds might be forced to cash in on him this summer. The Blues are among a host of clubs ready to fight for his services at the end of the season.

Pricing Salah away will neither be easy nor cheap, though, as he’s expected to cost more than £100 million, including wages. Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG are also interested in Salah.

Chelsea coach set to join Frank Lampard at Everton

According to latest reports, Chelsea coach Joe Edwards is set for a departure after a long career with the club, joining Frank Lampard at Everton.

His 18-year coaching spell at Stamford Bridge comes to an end as he looks to gain a promotion on Merseyside.

As per Matt Law and Nizaar Kinsella, Edwards is set to join Lampard at Everton.

Law reports that Edwards is expected to team up again with Lampard, possibly as his assistant manager in the Premier League, with Jody Morris no longer working with the former Chelsea boss.

Edwards has been part of the coaching staff since 2004, retiring as a player as he began coaching at a young age with the Academy.

He has come on leaps and bounds and cemented his place as part of Chelsea’s coaching staff, but it appears that he has been tempted into leaving the club to link up with Lampard once again.

The pair have a strong relationship, dating back to Lampard’s playing days before being a key part of his managerial side at Chelsea.

Chris Jones, formerly of Chelsea, will also join Lampard in Everton whilst Paul Clement could be part of his backroom team.

It is not all doom and gloom for Chelsea, however, as Anthony Barry is set to remain with Thomas Tuchel’s team despite reports that Everton were keen to bring him in with Lampard.

There is no official announcement as of yet but it is reported that Lampard has signed his contract and an announcement is expected soon.
