Board issues statement after German officially agrees deal with Chelsea

Thomas Tuchel has signed a contract extension with Chelsea to keep him at the club until 2024.

The 47-year-old German arrived at Stamford Bridge in January, inheriting a side who were ninth in the table when previous boss Frank Lampard was sacked.

And the German made an instant impact at the club over the course of the last few months, leading the Blues to that FA Cup final and winning that Champions League title, while also getting the club back inside the top four spot.

And after a very impressive start to his time at the Club, the German has now agreed a deal with the club that will keep him at the club until the end of 2024, unless he gets the sack before then

On the extension of his contract, originally due to expire in 2022, Tuchel said: “I cannot imagine a better occasion for a contract renewal. I am grateful for the experience and very happy to stay part of the family.

“There is far more to come and we are looking forward to our next steps with ambition and much anticipation.”

Tuchel is a world class coach and we were very lucky to get him at the time they did, he was a great move by the club.

He could lead the club to more success next season so the fact that he has agreed to extend his stay at the club, is a massive statement that he intends to bring more success to the club.

This is great news guys!
