According to latest reports, via Football London, Chelsea have seemingly completed the signing of West Brom wonderkid Leo Cardoso after the 16-year-old was pictured alongside John Terry and Petr Cech

However, Chelsea appear to have completed the signing of exciting West Brom midfielder Leo Cardoso after a picture of him alongside John Terry and Petr Cech was shared online.

Cardoso, who has been called up by both England and Portugal at youth level, was pictured alongside the Blues legends holding a Chelsea shirt with the No.10 on it.

The 15-year-old is capable of playing on the wing as well as attacking midfield as the club continue to build for the future having already produced the likes of Mason Mount and Reece James in recent seasons.

Given his age, he is yet to sign a professional contract at the Hawthorns, meaning the Blues will only be obliged to pay compensation for the transfer.

The news was broken by TheSecretScout on Twitter, who also shared the photo.

They wrote: “BOOM. wow what a signing! Chelsea have signed one of the best u16s in Europe Leo Cardoso

“Can play wide or in the 10 role. Signed from West Brom

“Has played for England and Portugal

“What a signing.”

Terry and Cech are both now working as the club as an academy consultant and technical advisor respectively.

New recruits have been at a premium at Stamford Bridge with no new faces being added to the first team during the January transfer window.

It is a signing that could well be the last of the Roman Abramovich era at Stamford Bridge, if it is confirmed imminently.

The Russian confirmed on Wednesday night that he was looking to sell the club, ending a 19-year stint in control of the Blues that has seen more success than any other point in their history.
