Having beaten Chelsea 3-1 in the first leg, Ancelotti rested some of his players for the second leg.

However, The Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is well prepared for Tuesday’s Champions League second leg clash against Chelsea.

Chelsea had recorded a fine 6-0 win over Southampton during the weekend, and Real Madrid also got a 2-0 win over Getafe, with Ancelotti resting some of his key players.

Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Dani Carvajal, and Ferland Mendy, who started against Chelsea, did not play a single minute in their La Liga match during the weekend.

Ancelotti has also claimed that Mendy, who had a minor fitness issue will be available for Tuesday’s second-leg match against Chelsea.

Ancelotti is happy to have a fully fit squad available to face Chelsea, with the exception of Eden Hazard.

“He [Mendy] had an overload, and we preferred not to risk it,” the Italian said after the Getafe win (via Real Madrid’s official website).

“At the last minute, we [also] had a problem with Mariano [Diaz].

“Apart from [Eder] Militao (who is suspended for the second leg), I think everyone can be in the Chelsea game aside from [Eden] Hazard, who is recovering from his operation.”
