BREAKING: Coutinho’s agent confirms whether the Brazilian will join Chelsea

Former Liverpool star Coutinho has been linked with a move to Chelsea, having struggled since leaving Liverpool in 2018.

Coutinho was hailed as a world class player while playing for Liverpool, but he has since struggled to reach that height since making a switch to Barcelona that saw the Spanish giants pay over £150m for his signature in January 2018.

The Brazilian flopped that year with Barca and was subsequently loaned out to Bayern Munich, where he has as well struggled to perform, which has prompted talks of a return to the Premier League, with Chelsea rumoured as his next destination.

However, his agent Kia Joorabchian, has denied the rumours and claims that he’s only thinking of finishing the season with Bayern Munich, where he’s still on loan.

Asked about the transfer rumours and Coutinho’s future on Thursday, the player’s agent Kia Joorabchian told talkSPORT: “Philippe at the moment, he’s at Bayern, but he’s sidelined at the moment.

“He’s had an injury, he had an operation two weeks ago on his ankle and he is six weeks for recovery for that, which unfortunately means he’ll probably miss a chunk of the Bundesliga. Hopefully he’ll be fit for the tail end of the season.

“At the moment, we have not spoken to anybody about any deals whatsoever.

“I think at the moment everyone’s concentration is regarding this pandemic and how football can restart the season in a secure environment and over the health and safety of everybody. “I think the transfer side of things and where he will go or where people will go will come into play down the line when things have got back to some sort of normality.”
