Pedro and Willian set to be free agents at the end of the season and their contract with Chelsea ends this month, but Chelsea boss Frank Lampard may need the duo to help complete the season.
According to reports, Pedro has refused to sign a short-term extension as he is worried about any injury he could pick up affecting a potential move to Roma.
Willian is also yet to put pen to paper on a new deal either long-term or short-term, and Lampard has admitted that he’d love to finish the season with the players he started out with.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of Chelsea’s game against Aston Villa on Sunday, Lampard admitted the futures of both players are yet to be determined and he’d love to complete the season with the players.
“I would have sympathy with the player to make the decision they need,” Lampard said.
“If we try to extend the players then we want them to stay, we have conversations going on. ‘We want to finish the season with the players we started with.”
