BREAKING: Todd Boehly makes crucial appointment as Chelsea released official statement
According to latest reports, Tom Glick has been named as Chelsea’s new President of Business.
Glick, a former executive for Manchester City and president of the Carolina Panthers, will now take on some of Marina Granovskaia’s duties as director, which she resigned in June.
This is the latest action by the new proprietors, Todd Boehly, who has been making his mark at Chelsea since taking over.
The club has released a statement that reads: “Chelsea Football Club has today appointed Tom Glick, a 30-year sports marketing and operations executive, as the Club’s new President of Business.
“Glick will assume responsibility for day-to-day operations at Chelsea FC, including managing its global commercial strategy, driving revenue growth, enhancing fan engagement, and creating exceptional experiences for the Club’s fans.”
On the arrival of Glick, Boehly said: “Tom’s successful track record as a leader and innovator at several respected and winning sport organisations made him the obvious choice for this position.
“His skills and experience will be vital as we improve Chelsea FC’s key infrastructure, expand the Club’s products and reputation, and find exciting new ways for our loyal supporters to engage with their favourite players.”
Speaking about his new role, Glick said: “Chelsea FC is an iconic sports institution, known and admired all over the world. I have been very impressed with the vision and mission of Todd Boehly and Clearlake.
“They have the Chelsea community at the heart of everything they do.
“We have a huge opportunity here to enhance performance across the board, on behalf of everyone we serve.”
