Caballero or Kepa: Lamaprd reveals his decision on who will start against Southampton.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard had gone back to the odd question of who should man the Chelsea post this weekend, either Kepa Arrizabalaga or Willy Caballero.
It was a question that Lampard faced numerous times in his pre-match press conference, and he yet again had to face same question ahead of the Southampton clash, due to the injury of new goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.
Lampard had declared that Mendy won’t be available for the game against the Saints, and was hopeful that his new number one would return to action soon.
“Mendy won’t be fit for this game but we hope he won’t be out for too long,” said Lampard at his pre-match press conference.
The boss was asked whether Kepa or Caballero would replace the injured Mendy between the sticks against the Saints, but the Blues boss declined against making that decision public.
He told the press: “I’ll make that decision out of the goalkeepers tomorrow, so we will see with that one.”
Lampard: "Mendy won't be fit for the match tomorrow, we hope it won't be long. Thiago Silva won't be in the squad because of the travel. Ben Chilwell will be in the squad." Pulisic fit/Ziyech fit but not to start. #CFC
