Chelsea and Napoli ‘have reached agreement’ over smart£16 million transfer deal

Napoli have reportedly reached a gentleman’s agreement to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko on a permanent deal from Chelsea.

There is only a few weeks until the January transfer window opens up for the Premier League, and although the COVID-19 virus has not gone away, it is still expected that a number of clubs will be looking to do some transfer business.

Chelsea have their eyes set on a new defender and possible a new midfielder, but they will need to offload a number of squad players before completing any deals, and Bakayoko is a man that is no longer needed at the club.

The midfielder joined the Serie A club on loan in October and has quickly become an integral part of their title push, and According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the two clubs are said to have now reached an agreement in principle over a £16million move for the midfielder.

Napoli did not agree a fee for the 26-year-old when signing from Chelsea, but they are keen to make sure that he makes the permanent move to the club in the coming windows.

Look, if the reports are true and Chelsea have reached an agreement for Bakayoko, it is a good amount of money to get for a player that never really made any sort of impact on the side.

Chelsea fans can expect alot of deals in the coming window as the club will looking to get a number of fringe players off the squad, so as we said, if the reports are true, it is a great bit of business by Chelsea. They can use those funds to help finance a deal for one of their top January targets.
