Chelsea bid made? Benfica open up and confirm transfer offer for £100 million rated Brazilian striker

A bid has been rejected by Benfica for Chelsea-linked forward Carlos Vinicius, according to reports in todays media. Chelsea will be seeking to improve the side when the transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time as Frank Lampard will be given the money that he needs to improve this Blues striker.

A new striker is on the agenda of Lampard and there has been alot of players linked with a possible move to Stamford Bridge as he identifies the perfect long-term partner for Tammy Abraham, with Vinicius on the list.

The Brazilian striker heads the Portuguese scoring charts with 15 goals in 19 Primeira Liga appearances – and 20 from 33 games in all competitions, and he has already attracted interest from a number of clubs

Lisbon media recently claimed Chelsea wants to sign the striker during the close season, and is ready to make the move to the Brazilian hitman. Now Benfica chief Luis Filipe Vieira says the club have rejected an offer from an unnamed club for the 25-year-old, but says it will take at least €100m for them to consider selling.

“I received an offer of €60m (£53.45m) for Vinicius and did not sell. He is priced at €100m,” he told BTV. “If it weren’t for the pandemic, Benfica would have had two players sold for €100m each.”

Look, there is no doubt that Chelsea do need to strengthen in key areas of the pitch as they are a bit short in some areas, but there is no need to delve into that transfer kitty and make a massive £100 million offer for Vinicus.

the lad is very talented yes, but he is not worth that kind of money just yet and it would be a massive shock to see Chelsea pay this amount of money for the lad, especially as they are keen to land a few more world class players in the summer.
