Chelsea confirm final agreement with Todd Boehly as announcement date set
Following the Premier League, UK government and Portuguese government giving authorisation for the Chelsea takeover, the club has moved to confirm the deal.
However, Chelsea have today confirmed they have reached a ‘final and definitive’ agreement with the consortium led by Todd Boehly over the sale of the club.
The club also reported that the deal is expected to be finalised on Monday.
Chelsea have released a statement on Saturday morning, thus: “Chelsea Football Club can confirm that a final and definitive agreement was entered into last night to sell the Club to the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Capital consortium.
“It is expected that the transaction will be completed on Monday. The Club will update further at that time.”
The lengthy sale process has now come to an end, with the Todd Boehly/Clearlake Capital consortium set to take over the club after a deal worth £4.25billion.
