Chelsea consider him as the “perfect summer signing” – Fabrizio Romano says of €80m player

During the last summer transfer window,  Chelsea tried to sign up Sevilla defender Jules Kounde after both clubs had reached an agreement.

However, it was claimed Sevilla backed out of the deal, asking for a bigger pay from Chelsea.

Chelsea decided not to cave in to Sevilla’s demands, and Kounde was as well frustrated with the Spanish club for stopping him from sealing a dream move to the European champions.

Meanwhile, according to top transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea board consider Sevilla player Jules Kounde as the “perfect signing” for the club.

Romano said: “Chelsea are still thinking of Jules Kounde as a serious possibility for their defence. Thomas Tuchel loves this player. Chelsea’s board are convinced he’d be the perfect signing so they will try again in the coming months… Release clause is €80million”

The French centre-back has a release clause worth £67million, and Chelsea could go for him in the summer.

Chelsea may lose Andreas Christensen to Barcelona, and the futures of Cesar Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger are yet to be sorted out.
