Chelsea fans wants him! As Romano reveals potential Romelu Lukaku replacement
Chelsea are reportedly considering a deal for Christopher Nkunku as a possible replacement for Romelu Lukaku, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Inter Milan has been mentioned as a possible destination for Romelu Lukaku, who is expected to depart Chelsea this summer.
Nkunku had a strong season with RB Leipzig last season, scoring 20 goals in the German Bundesliga and 35 goals overall.
According to Romano, Chelsea have been tracking Nkunku for some time and see him as a possible replacement for Lukaku.
However, Leipzig is adamant about keeping him, and his high price tag, reported to be about €100 million, could be a stumbling barrier.
“So far Leipzig have not received any offers from Arsenal for Christopher Nkunku, but I can reveal that Chelsea have been following him for some time,” Romano said.
“Still, the price is over €100m because Leipzig want to try to keep him at all costs, and could even offer him a new contract this summer.
“Of course, Chelsea have problems up front with Romelu Lukaku, so it’s not surprising Nkunku could be seen as a replacement, but for now there’s not much to report.”
Former Inter Milan chief Marco Branca can has claimed that Romelu Lukaku will return to Inter Milan in the end.
According to Branca, the will of the player will always pull through at the end.
Branca told Sky Italia: “The will of the players has always counted, I don’t think Lukaku wants to reevaluate but simply return to feel a protagonist in the two years of Inter.
