According to Spanish media outlet AS Diario report that the Blues have switch to Real Madrid for the signing of Vinicius Junior.

The report adds that initial contact was made in November as Frank Lampard wants to add more firepower to his attack.

Zinedine Zidane has proven ruthless when it comes to his selection in attack, freezing out Gareth Bale and often overlooking Vinicius.

Vinicius, who joined the club from Brazilian side Flamengo in 2018, is under contract in the Spanish capital until June 2025 – he has a reported £630m release clause!

Zidane will reportedly allow the player to leave if a good offer comes – Transfermarkt value the 20-year-old at £40.5m.

Having just lost Willian on a free transfer at the expiration of his contract, the Blues might be looking at Vinicius Junior as a great backup option.
