Chelsea handed boost as Manchester United pull out of race for £75m Chelsea transfer target

Chelsea have opened talks with Bayer Leverkusen over the transfer of the 21 year old midfielder and are hoping to sign Havertz for £75 million.

According to Daily Star, Premier League rivals Manchester United have pulled out of the running to sign Kai Havertz, giving Chelsea a clear shot at the Bayer Leverkusen star.

Bayer Leverkusen will be disappointed with Manchester United’s decision to pull out of the running for Havertz as they had hoped a bidding war will push their asking price for the midfielder.

Manchester United reportedly pulled out of the race for Havertz to focus on signing Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.

Donny van de Beek will be reportedly available for £44 million, less than the asking price for Havertz despite having the same number of assists but scoring a goal less than Havertz.
