Chelsea lead race to sign highly-rated Marcos Alonso replacement

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has recently admitted that he’d like to strengthen his squad during the summer transfer window, as the Blues haven’t been able to make any signings over the past two transfer windows.

One key area for Lampard is the left-back position as Lampard has often had to play right-back Cesar Azpilicueta in the left-back position, despite the availability of Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri.

Chelsea have strongly been linked with Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell, but that move seems impossible at this time – as the Foxes aren’t keen on losing him, and it will only take an outrageous figure to lure him out of the King Power Stadium. Such a deal definitely won’t be happening post Covid-19.

Alex Telles is the second left-back to have been linked with a move to Chelsea, but reports claim from France claim Porto have received an offer from PSG for the Brazilian.

However, Porto-based outlet O Jogo has claimed that PSG have received another offer for Telles. According to the report, another club have matched the €25m bid that was reportedly accepted from PSG. The name of the club wasn’t revealed, but rumours suggest that it’s Chelsea.

Porto are believed to have accepted the €25m bid, having previously been keen on €30m in the past.
