Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink urges Chelsea to sign two players in January
Speaking to Ladbrokes, former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has urged the club to sign two players in January to win the Premier League title.

Chelsea were the biggest spenders in the summer transfer window, going all out to recruit as many as seven first-team players.

The likes of Edouard Mendy, Thiago Silva, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Timo Werner and Ben Chilwell have made a telling impact, transforming Chelsea’s fortunes on the pitch.

The Blues have won their last five games across all competitions and following the 2-0 win over Newcastle United are perched at the top of the Premier League table.

However, club legend Hasselbaink is of the belief that we need two more signings to beat the competition and lift the league title. (h/t Metro)

According to the former striker, a new central defender, either Caglar Soyuncu of Leicester City or Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar, need to be brought in. (h/t Metro)

“I actually quite like the Leicester defender, Caglar Soyuncu. I think he’d be very good at Chelsea. Also the defender at Inter Milan, Milan Skriniar – everybody is talking about him, another very good player.”

Hasselbaink further went on to add that Chelsea must also add another attacking midfielder to the ranks.

“I would also like to see another creative midfielder. I like Mason Mount, but maybe somebody to play alongside him. Havertz is there, I know, but you want healthy, quality competition in that area.”

A new central defender wouldn’t be the worst idea, considering that Thiago Silva is 36 years of age. However, bringing in another attacking midfielder, when we already have Havertz, Mount and Ziyech, would be a bit counterproductive.

Nevertheless, things are really looking up for Lampard & co., and if we continue in this form, we shouldn’t be far away from the title picture.
