Chelsea midfielder speaks out about his desire to depart from Stamford Bridge

Danny Drinkwater has confirmed that he’s hoping to depart Chelsea during the summer transfer market.

In spite of costing £35m in 2017, Danny has made just 23 appearances for the west Londoners in all competitions, spending the last season on loan at Burnley and Aston Villa respectively.

During his temporary period away from the club, the Englishman failed to make a positive impression, leaving the player struggling to attract bids from clubs ahead of the new term.

At a time when Chelsea may be ready to hand the 30-year-old a free transfer, Danny has acknowledged that he will leave the Blues in the near future.

On Instagram, Danny said: “Back at Chelsea only for pre-season. Working hard, trying to get fit and in the best shape I can be for wherever I go next.

“As much as I would like to be settled at a club like I should be, the unknown is kinda exciting.”

The former Leicester City man still has two years remaining on his current deal at the Premier League outfit.
