Chelsea morning headlines as Ziyech could help Chelsea to finish THIS season after latest transfer report

Hakim Ziyech could still join Chelsea from June 30 from Ajax with the Eredivisie season has been scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, The 27-year-old – who is set to become the Blues’ first signing under Frank Lampard – has already agreed a deal to make the move to Stamford Bridge.

Players that had moves lined up for the summer, as well as free agents, are not allowed to leave their current club until the season is completed.

But according to the Daily Mail, the Dutch top-flight is poised to follow Belgium’s suit and axe the rest of the campaign. This is due to Holland extending their ban on all major events until September 1.

And because of this, Ziyech would be allowed to join the West London outfit as originally planned. The Premier League is believed to have no intention of scrapping the season, and intend to play all their games within a five-week period in the summer.

Accroding to the MAIL, Chelsea will speak to the player and his representatives when the situation becomes clearer.

They add that it is unlikely that Lampard will ask him to report to Cobham for training with his side still looking to complete the campaign. After starring for Ajax last term, Ziyech has impressed again this season – chipping in with eight goals and 21 assists in 25 games in all competitions.
