Chelsea player ratings as Frank Lampard set to drop four stars after Sheffield defeat

It was an insipid and lackadaisical performance from Frank Lampard’s side as Chelsea were beaten 3-0 by Sheffield United to dampen Chelsea’s top four hopes.

However, Frank Lampard has figured out some mistakes and said in his post-match that “He’s learnt alot” in tonight’s defeat.

Kepa: Brutally exposed by his defence, but he didn’t do himself any good either. Critics would claim he could have done better to flap the ball with much pressure for Sheffield’s opener. 4/10

Reece James: Looked a shadow of himself both attacking and defensively. 4/10

Christensen: Let McBurnie get free off him for the striker to have a free header to beat Kepa. Very poor performance. 2/10

Zouma: Had a good performance last game, but was awful for this game. Switched off for the opening goal and was so lazy to track back for Sheffield’s third goal as he didn’t close down Lys Mousset quick enough. 3/10

Azpilicueta: Started the game as a left-back but switched to the right side of a three-man defence for the second half. Didn’t do too bad but didn’t much either. 4/10

Jorginho: Was easily muscled out at times. Couldn’t find penetrating passes. 4/10

Barkley: No impact in the final third despite having much of the ball. 4/10

Mount: Struggled all through the first half and didn’t make it to the second. Should have cleared the ball in his own 18-yard box for the opening goal before Sander Berge dispossessed him. 3/1

Willian: Very tired performance from the Brazilian. Didn’t do much to impact the game. 4/10

Pulisic: Looked threatening at first, but he later tired out as his influence waned. 4/10

Tammy Abraham: Lacked service and couldn’t convert the few that came his way. 4/10

Subs: Rudiger: Came on after the break and was awful as well. Couldn’t clear his lines as McGoldrick scored a free goal for his second of the game. 3/10

Alonso: Was a good outlet on the left, but nothing more. 4/10

Giroud: Tried to bully Sheffield’s defence after coming on, but to no avail. 5/10

Hudson-Odoi: Looked bright after coming on, but to no avail. 5/10

Loftus-Cheek: 77th minute sub for Ross Barkley. Had little impact. N/A
