Chelsea ready to offer two Chelsea players in swap deal to sign €80M top midfielder as (Club ready to deal)
In order to get Frenkie de Jong, a midfielder for Barcelona, Chelsea is prepared to arrange a multi-player trade.
According to Sport, the Blues may try to swap De Jong for their current defensive pairing of Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta.
Despite having already secured the services of Danish defender Andreas Christensen on a free transfer, Barcelona has already been pursuing the signings of the Chelsea two this summer.
Barcelona may have preferred to work out a deal with Chelsea in light of their interest in Alonso and Azpilicueta. Although she has already lauded them for their qualities, President Joan Laporta declined to comment on whether they might be transferred.
He said from New York: “They are under contract at Chelsea and we respect this as well as the new owner. I don’t want to talk about players who belong to other teams.
“I respect Cesar and Marcos as footballers. They are very, very good players. They show their quality and talent at Chelsea. But I don’t want to talk about them as a matter of respect for Chelsea.”
