Chelsea receive a triple injury boost ahead of West Brom clash

Chelsea take on West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League this weekend and manager Thomas Tuchel is expected to see the return of a number of his first-team players, according to Football London.

The report claims: “Thiago Silva is back in training for Chelsea having missed the last ten games for Chelsea with a thigh injury.

“Another player also pictured in training was Tammy Abraham. The striker has missed Chelsea’s last seven games with an ankle problem he sustained in the 2-0 victory over Newcastle United.

“Jorginho was another Blues player who was spotted in training. The Italian was ruled out of the win over Sheffield United in the FA Cup quarter final and for the international break with a knock but, if you look very closely, you can see him and the number 5 on his training top in the recently released pictures from Cobham.”

Silva has been out with a thigh injury and he’s missed Chelsea’s last 10 matches so it will be a big boost for the manager to have his most experienced defender back.

But Christensen has been in top form in the past couple of weeks so it will be interesting to see if the manager chooses to bring Thiago Silva straight back into the starting line-up or not.

Timo Werner had a poor outing for Germany during the international break and if Tammy Abraham is fully fit and ready to go then he will definitely be starting as the main centre-forward on Saturday.

The return of Jorginho is also a big boost for the manager since N’Golo Kante pulled out of national duty due to an injury and he’s not likely to be ready before the weekend.

Chelsea have a crunch Champions League encounter vs Porto next week and Thomas Tuchel will definitely have one eye on that fixture. And this could prompt the manager to urge his side to wrap up Saturday’s game early so that he can rest some of his key players.
