Chelsea set to hijack Tottenham move for 60 million attacker – report

Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea’s archrivals in London, are about to scuffle because they plan to sabotage the Nicolo Zaniolo acquisition.

The Blues are exploring a straight-swap move this summer and have entered the market to recruit Roma forward Nicolo Zaniolo. Christian Pulisic and Chelsea are negotiating a trade for Zaniolo throughout the transfer window in preparation for a possible transfer.

Tottenham had previously been considered the favorites to sign the Roma star this summer. Roma appears to have the ability to stop the transfer to Tottenham and pursue a transfer with Chelsea.

After acquiring Raheem Sterling earlier in the transfer window, Thomas Tuchel wants to bolster the attack with another player up front. Additionally, the manager has turned to the market when Romelu Lukaku moved to a loan after leaving and Timo Werner left.

In a similar vein, Antonio Conte was pressing for Zaniolo this summer as he too was eager to add depth to his assault. However, after speaking with the player, Jose Mourinho, it seems the attacker is rethinking his decision to join Tottenham.

However, the midfielder is still open to a transfer to the English top division for the upcoming campaign. Additionally, Chelsea is prepared to hire him but would like to exchange Pulisic for him in the transaction.

The Serie A team could take this offer into consideration, but Paulo Dybala was just signed earlier in the transfer window. Additionally, Roma is seeking anywhere between €50 and €60 million, which Chelsea might not be willing to accept.

Additionally, Tottenham’s initial offer for the player was close to €40 million, but the Italian club ultimately turned down the offer. If Chelsea wants to retain the services of the outstanding 23-year-old, they must press for this change.
