Chelsea star ‘Refused To Play’ against Tottenham as he wants to leave club before deadline

According to TEAMTalk, Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger “refused to play” against Tottenham last night despite being asked to by manager Frank Lampard.

The German international has not featured for the Blues this season but he was supposed to have been in the lineup yesterday evening.

However, the player is keen on leaving Stamford Bridge due to his lack of game time and it appears he has now played his last game for the club.

After the defeat to Spurs on penalties in the Carabao Cup, Lampard was asked whether he had any comment to make on Rudiger’s absence from the matchday squad but the Chelsea boss gave nothing away:

“No. It’s not at that point.”

Some reports suggest that the 27-year-old has been offered, along with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, to West Ham in the Blues’ attempts to sign Declan Rice. Tottenham, themselves are also said to be interested in the centre-back, while there have also been rumours of interest from Paris Saint-Germain over the past week.
