Chelsea target defender valued €80 million as Jules Kounde alternative
Jules Kounde’s transfer from Sevilla to Chelsea was later sabotaged by Barcelona.
Additionally, the Blues failed to land defensive targets like Matthijs de Ligt and Nathan Ake.
Now, Chelsea reportedly turned to Wesley Fofana, a defender for Leicester City.
Meanwhile, according to Sky Sports, Chelsea are interested in signing the highly-rated Leicester City defender, Fofana.
The 21-year-old defender can play either side, left or right centre-back, and fits Thomas Tuchel’s requirements.
Despite being just 21, Fofana has become a key part of the Foxes team, and played 28 league games for Brendan Rodgers side last season, even though he suffered a fibula fracture at the start of the 2021/22 season.
The young defender recently signed a contract extension with the Foxes, that will keep him at Leicester City till 2027.
Following his new long-term contract, it will take big bucks to price him out of the King Power Stadium.
